TAX REFUND USA
~ Description
In the United States, as well as in Bulgaria, people pay taxes depending on the amount of money
they have received through wages/salaries. It is the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) which deals with all tax issues in the USA.
Each year millions of American citizens, permanent residents, exchange visitors and seasonal workers are obliged to submit an individual
Income Tax Return. Returns are filed between January 15th – April 15th . It is possible to submit the Return after April 15th , but the
procedure for tax refund takes more time and the delay can sometimes lead to penalties.
Exchange visitors in the USA pay:
- Federal Tax
- this is the main US tax and paying it is mandatory
- State Tax
- this tax is defined by the local state authorities and the amount varies from state to state.
If you are on a J-1 visa, you are not supposed to pay other taxes, such as Social Security, Medicare and Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA).
As a rule, the taxes which your employer has deducted from your paychecks, are more than required.
That is why you have the right to apply for tax refund and you are welcome to use our services for that purpose! In many cases, you will get full refund.
In fact, the amount of your tax refund depends on the amount of money you have earned during your work period.
The most important document which is required for Tax Refund, is the W-2 form. This is the form which contains the final tax information the way it was
submitted for you by your employer to the IRS. Based on that information it is calculated whether you will get tax refund, and whether it will be full
or partial. Each employer is obliged to issue the W-2 form and send it to you after the end of the year.
Make sure you have your employers' contacts before you fly back home. It is equally important for your employer to have your exact address in order to
send you the W-2 form.
